We are a registered inspection body with the PIPA scheme. This means that we have all of the necessary training required to operate and inspect bouncy castles. As we are the only bouncy castle operator in Hull and East Yorkshire with that honour, you can rest assured that we are the safest!
The law states that bouncy castles must not be hired outside in wind speeds exceeding 24 mph or the maximum stated wind speed for a particular inflatable.
In these conditions, we will cancel all outdoor bookings and this is not negotiable. We may come to the site to measure the wind speeds and leave an anemometer for regular wind speed measurements. This is at our discretion.
Most of our bouncy castles are equipped with rain covers. These are only suitable for light showers of short-lived rain. Heavy or prolonged rain are not suitable for outdoor bouncy castle hire.
In the event of heavy or prolonged rain, the inflatable must be evacuated and switched off to prevent harm to users.
We will not hire if significant rainy spells are predicted.
The only surface we will hire on outside is flat grass with minimal mud.
No other surface has the required structure or means for us to anchor the bouncy castle correctly.
All inflatables must be secured to the ground when used outside. Sand bags, ballasts, or bolts drilled into the ground must not be used unless: the sand bags or ballasts weigh at least 163 kg each, or the bolts can withstand 163 kg or pulling force and have been tested regularly after set up.
Insurance is required when hiring bouncy castles commercially.
All operators should present you with their insurance policy when asked.
Any bouncy castle that you hire should be free of holes, ripped seams, flaking artwork, and should not pose a danger to its users.
If you are not happy with the condition of a hired inflatable, let the operator know!
PIPA or ADIPS are the only Health and Safety Executive recognised bodies/schemes capable of providing tests for bouncy castles.
For a PIPA test - If an inflatable has been tested under the PIPA scheme, it will have a blue PIPA tag affixed somewhere visible. The test report can be seen by scanning the QR code or visiting the PIPA website and inserting the tag number.
For an ADIPS test - The inflatable operator should present you with a certificate of inspection/report when asked.
For new inflatables - New inflatables will often come with a 12 month manufacturers certificate instead of a PIPA/ADIPS certificate. The operator should present you with this when asked.
